Photographer Bravo’s vast experience enables him to offer
a wide variety of processes to clients. Whether the task is digital reproduction of a work of art or producing a black and white
print using the traditional silver gelatin process, Bravo is in his
realm of expertise.
For digitizing artwork Bravo uses the Better Light Scan-Back process, which enables him to achieve the maximum resolution to the original presently offered by the industry. This technology allows him to capture shadows and highlights accurately without compromising subtle nuances found in the original art. The resulting finely detailed reproduction can be made in almost any size, allowing artists and collectors the opportunity to create custom limited-edition prints for clients as well as to archive their art for posterity, publications, and insurance purposes. In order to preserve the integrity of these captured images, Bravo uses Epson’s Ultra Chrome pigment inks on 100% cotton fiber archival papers, which result in a 200-year life span for the works.
For the technically interested: unlike smaller digital cameras that rely on software interpolation to increase the image size and overall image quality, Bravo’s Better Light Scan-Back process employs un-interpolated scans to achieve its remarkably high resolution. At its maximum, it produces 6,000 x 8,000 x 3RGB which plays out to 48 bit files or 216 million “real” pixels overall.
Bravo Images offers full-service ink jet reproduction of original fine art work. Whether the piece is a two-dimensional painting, a photograph or a computer-generated creation, the inkjet printing process is an economical alternative to four color offset printing and has the added advantage of allowing artists total control of the reproduction of their images including color variations and a variety of substrates for printing. Reproductions can be made in almost any size, providing the opportunity to create custom limited-edition prints. In order to preserve the integrity of these captured images, Bravo Images uses Epson’s Ultra Chrome pigment inks on 100% cotton fiber archival papers, which result in a 140-year life span for the works.
